"MetaBox" is WM Doll's name for its robotic, AI-enabled dolls. The factory store currently lists them as **AI-Powered Biomimetic Silicone Robot** models, for example the [164 cm F-cup with head #1068](https://wmdoll.org/dolls/164cm-f-cup-ai-robot-1068/) at **$3,099**. The body is silicone on a metal skeleton; the difference from a regular WM doll is the conversation and sensor module inside.

This page separates what is confirmed from what is marketing, explains the running cost after the first year, and lists what to ask a seller before you order.

## What the WM MetaBox robot can do

The details below come from interviews WM's founder gave to the press in March 2025 ([South China Morning Post](https://www.scmp.com/tech/tech-trends/article/3298783/chinese-sex-doll-maker-sees-jump-2025-sales-ai-boosts-adult-toys-user-experience), [China Daily](http://epaper.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202503/25/WS67e1e591a310358b44fde2be.html)) and from the current factory listing.

### Conversation

The doll talks using open-source large language models, including Meta's Llama models, processed on cloud servers. The voice comes from the doll; the thinking happens online.

### Personalities and voices

Buyers choose from eight personalities and voices.

### Languages

English, German, Japanese, Korean, French and Spanish were supported at launch.

### Memory

The doll can pick up a conversation started a few days earlier, which is what makes it feel like a companion rather than a voice assistant.

### Touch

Wireless sensors in the body let the doll react when it is touched.

## What the MetaBox does not do

It does not walk, stand up on its own or move its limbs. It is a doll with a voice, not a humanoid robot. Expect the same weight, care and storage needs as any silicone doll of its size, plus the module.

## Privacy and data

### Where the data lives

WM says chat data is stored in the country where the doll is used and can be deleted with one click.

### What to consider

Conversations pass through cloud servers. Read the privacy terms that come with the doll, keep the account secure, and decide in advance what you are comfortable saying to a connected device.

## How much the MetaBox costs

### The list price

The 164 cm robot lists at $3,099: $249 more than a 164 cm TPE body ($2,850) and still below WM's full-silicone 175 cm body ($3,250).

### The running cost

When WM announced the line, it said AI versions would cost roughly **$100–200 more** than the same doll without AI, and that buyers would pay for usage (tokens) every month **after the first year** of connectivity. Budget for that fee as part of the total cost of ownership.

## Living with an AI doll

### Care

The body is silicone, so cleaning follows the usual routine: mild soap, lukewarm water and full drying, no powder. Ask the seller how to wash the doll without exposing the module to water, since the listing does not describe it.

### Storage

Store it like any full-size silicone doll: lying flat, seated with support or hanging from a rated kit, away from heat. See [how to clean a WM doll](https://wmdoll.org/blog/how-to-clean-a-wm-doll/) for the general routine.

## MetaBox vs a regular WM doll

| | Regular WM silicone | WM MetaBox AI | Regular WM TPE |
|---|---|---|---|
| Body | Silicone, metal skeleton | Silicone, metal skeleton | TPE, metal skeleton |
| Talks and remembers | No | Yes, via cloud AI | No |
| Reacts to touch | No | Yes, sensors | No |
| Running cost | None | Subscription after year one | None |
| Example list price | [175 cm silicone, $3,250](https://wmdoll.org/dolls/175cm-silicone-head-142/) | [164 cm robot, $3,099](https://wmdoll.org/dolls/164cm-f-cup-ai-robot-1068/) | [164 cm D-cup, $2,850](https://wmdoll.org/dolls/164cm-d-cup-head-390/) |

## Questions to ask before you order

1. Which language model and personalities are included today.
2. What the monthly fee is after year one, and what happens if you stop paying: does the doll keep talking offline?
3. Whether the module can be replaced or repaired separately from the body.
4. How to wash the doll safely with the module inside.
5. Which countries the data is stored in for your address.

## Who the MetaBox suits

The AI line makes sense if conversation and companionship matter to you more than body realism or price. If you mainly want the body, a regular TPE body from our [model list](https://wmdoll.org/dolls/) costs less and has no running costs. If you are unsure about material, read [WM doll TPE vs silicone](https://wmdoll.org/blog/wm-doll-tpe-vs-silicone/) first.
