How to clean a WM doll

A twenty-minute routine that keeps a WM TPE body soft, clean and free of stains for years.

Updated: October 20, 2026 · Official WM Doll site

TPE is soft, warm to the touch and slightly porous. Those are the reasons people love it and the reasons it needs a little more care than silicone. Most damage to WM TPE bodies comes from two things: harsh cleaners and trapped moisture. Avoid both and the doll will last.

A WM cleaning schedule

When What Time
After each use Rinse the used channel, drain, pat dry 5 minutes
Every few weeks Full wash, full drying, powder 45–60 minutes including drying
When it feels tacky Wash, dry, powder 30 minutes
Before storage Full wash, complete drying, powder, light clothes or cover Same as a full wash

What you need

  • Mild, unscented liquid soap or a cleaner made for TPE.
  • Lukewarm water, never hot.
  • Two or three microfiber towels and a soft sponge.
  • An irrigation bottle or bulb syringe for inner channels.
  • Renewal powder or plain cornstarch-based baby powder.
  • Optional: cotton gloves for handling a slippery wet doll.

Step 1: after every use

Rinse the inner channels with lukewarm soapy water using the irrigation bottle, then plain water until it runs clear. Hold the doll so the opening points down and let it drain. Pat around the opening dry. This takes five minutes and prevents most hygiene problems.

Step 2: full wash every few weeks

  1. Protect the head. Remove the head (it unscrews) or wrap the neck so water cannot reach the bolt.
  2. Run a shallow lukewarm bath or use a handheld shower. Put a towel at the bottom of the tub so the doll does not slide.
  3. Wash with your hands or a soft sponge and mild soap. Do not scrub; TPE scratches easily.
  4. Rinse well. Soap residue makes TPE sticky.
  5. Lift carefully. A wet full-size doll weighs 33–42 kg and is slippery; bend your knees.

Step 3: dry completely

Pat the body dry with microfiber towels; do not rub. Dry the inner channels with a lint-free cloth or a drying stick, then leave the doll on a towel in a warm room for a few hours. Never use a hair dryer on hot or put the doll near a heater, heat deforms TPE.

Step 4: powder

When the skin is fully dry, dust a light layer of renewal powder over the body with a soft brush. It removes the slight stickiness of fresh TPE and makes the skin feel silky again. Wipe off any excess from the face.

Cleaning the head

Wash the face only with a damp cloth and a drop of soap, keeping water away from the eyes and the bolt. Many heads have hand-painted makeup that wears off under scrubbing. Brush the wig separately and wash it like a synthetic wig.

Removing stains

TPE absorbs dye from dark clothes, newspapers and some bedding. Light stains often come out with a TPE stain-removal cream left on for a few hours and wiped away. Prevention is easier: dress the doll in light, colourfast fabrics and wash new clothes first.

Cleaning by WM model type

Standard WM TPE bodies

The routine above applies to every WM TPE body in our guide, from the 33 kg 166 cm C-cup to the 42 kg 168 cm F-cup. The heavier the body, the more important a towel in the tub and a second pair of hands.

A silicone head on a TPE body

Wash the body as TPE (with powder) and the head as silicone (no powder, damp cloth only). Keep powder off the face: it dulls painted makeup.

The full-silicone WM body

The 175 cm silicone body needs the same washing and drying but no powder, and it resists dye stains far better than TPE.

The MetaBox AI doll

The body is silicone, but it contains a conversation and sensor module. Ask the seller how to wash it without exposing the module to water before the first bath; see WM MetaBox AI.

Torsos

The WM torsos wash in a sink or shower tray with the same routine, which makes them much easier to keep clean.

After cleaning: storage

Store the doll only when it is completely dry and powdered. Dress it in light, colourfast fabrics or a cotton cover, keep it away from heat and sun, and store it lying flat, seated with support, or hanging from a hook rated for its weight.

Mistakes that ruin TPE

  • Alcohol, bleach, acetone, oil-based products: they dry out or dissolve TPE.
  • Hot water or direct heat: causes warping and weak spots.
  • Leaving it damp: leads to mould in inner channels.
  • Silicone lubricants: use water-based only.
  • Dark clothes left on for days: permanent stains.

If you are still choosing a doll and the routine sounds like too much, read TPE vs silicone: silicone needs less care but costs more. A WM torso is also far easier to wash.

FAQ

Updated: October 20, 2026 · Official WM Doll site

How often should I clean a WM doll?

Rinse the used inner channel after every use and give the whole body a gentle wash every few weeks, or when it looks dull or feels sticky.

What soap is safe for a WM TPE doll?

A mild, unscented liquid soap or a TPE-specific cleaner. Avoid alcohol, solvents and oily soaps.

Why is my WM doll sticky?

TPE releases a little oil over time. Wash it, dry it fully and dust it with renewal powder.

Can I put my WM doll in the shower?

Yes, if the head is removed or protected and the water is lukewarm. Use a mat or towel so the doll cannot slip.

Does a WM doll need powder?

TPE bodies do, after every full wash. The full-silicone 175 cm body and silicone heads do not.

How do I remove a dye stain from a WM doll?

Light stains often come out with a TPE stain-removal cream left on for a few hours. Prevent them by dressing the doll in light, colourfast fabrics.

How heavy is a wet WM doll?

Full-size WM TPE bodies weigh 33–42 kg dry, a little more when wet. Lift by the torso and hips and bend your knees.

Can I clean the WM MetaBox AI doll the same way?

The silicone body is cleaned the same way without powder, but ask the seller how to protect the AI module from water first.
